Target 40



As a business who strives to be Streets Ahead, at HTM we want to continue that approach when it comes to inclusion, gender equality and diversity. This means promoting inclusivity and diversity within our own workforce as well as within the wider TTM industry, which is one that lacks sufficient female representation.


This has led to the creation of an initiative called ‘Target 40’, which acts as an aim for our business to increase the number of females within operational roles by introducing an additional 40 women into the business. Once we reach this milestone, this will become a target of 40% representation across our operational workforce.


However long it takes us! We know that this target isn’t going to be easy, which is why we are looking to break down the barriers and challenge the stereotype of what a traffic management operative looks like or in fact, what the industry as a whole looks like.


We are actively recruiting female operatives across each of our depot locations. If you’re looking for a new challenge within the construction industry, this could be the role for you.


To do this we are speaking to the women within our workforce already, getting insight into what life is like working as a female within the industry and getting feedback as to what more we could be doing to encourage women into the industry. This has enabled us to shape the whole process, from application to interview to day 1 on the job. We have also become Women into Construction Gold Members to demonstrate our commitment to an equal and diverse workforce.
