This month Highway Traffic Management hosted their first charity fishing match on Sunday 20th October 2024 to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, the charity that the business has been fundraising for across their 23-24 business year.

The temporary traffic management company welcomed teams from Balfour Beatty Living Places Lincolnshire, Kiely Group, Traffix UK, with thanks to A1 Jobs for their donation towards the event and to Independent Tackle and Bait Doncaster for supporting the event, along with Vard’s Baits and Fishing Tackle Birmingham, raising a total of £1072.46 on the day.

The day began with a welcome from the HTM team and after setting up, the first catch of the day was caught by HTM’s very own Daniel Clegg, Contracts Coordinator, a swift 3 minutes into the match.

After several hours fishing, the top 3 places were:

1st place with 41lb 8oz, HTM’s Daniel Clegg.

2nd place with 37lb. Kiely’s Johnny Young

3rd place with 31lb, Traffix’s Brett Jukes.

“It’s been great getting to spend time with clients, suppliers and industry professionals for such a fantastic event, all for a great cause,” said HTM’s Ben Smith, Senior Contracts Coordinator for the Lincoln depot.

The business had a number of prizes up for grabs as part of their raffle, with prizes provided by HTM, Kielys, Traffix, Independent Tackle & Bait Doncaster, Vard’s Baits and Fishing Tackle.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the generous donations for raffle prizes and for the tickets purchased on the day. To have raised over £1,000 for this event is amazing,” Ben continued.

The business has now raised a total of £9,965 for Macmillan Cancer Support for their business year so far, running from November to October, leaving them with £35.00 left to raise to hit their goal before the end of the month.
