HTM kick start the new year with the return of their internal Streets Ahead Awards event, celebrating the achievements of their employees from across the business during the 22-23 financial year.

Highway Traffic Management have hosted their second employee recognition event with over 50 employees attending the awards event at their Birmingham headquarters on Thursday 11th January. The event served as a platform to honour the outstanding contributions made by individuals across various departments, highlighting the company’s commitment to creating a positive culture and to provide an opportunity for employees from various areas of the business to network and mingle.

“The awards are a way for us to acknowledge the fantastic work that happens within our business and the people who are the ones helping to make it happen,” said Marcus Casey, Business Director at HTM.

“Last year the event was really well received but was the first event we’d held. This year we have taken onboard a lot of feedback to ensure this year’s event was even more of a success, with a street food van offering delicious burgers to our attendees and with a more polished approach to the event proceedings.”

The awards event saw employees shortlisted across 18 categories, some focusing around the company’s values: Safety, Deliver, Innovation, Collaboration, Social Value and Mental Health, with new categories for 2024 such as Safety Never Stops, which celebrates the actions of employees who support and prioritise health and safety outside of their working requirements. Other categories included Outstanding Service, Best Newcomer (Operative and Management), and Streets Ahead awards voted by Operatives, Management and HTM’s clients.

Recognizing employees for their accomplishments and positive impact on the company is a key component of Highway Traffic Management’s commitment to employee engagement and motivation. The Streets Ahead Awards serve as an opportunity to not only highlight individual achievements but also to reinforce the importance of teamwork, innovation, and safety within the organization and the impressive culture that they have built at the company.

“Our culture and our people are our biggest asset, so this event is great way for us to really cement the value that they add within HTM. These are recognised throughout the year through the initial VIP (Values in Practice) nominations, and we have already improved the rewards for employees for the 23-24 business year having conducted employee surveys to ensure we’re giving our workforce rewards that they actually want,“ said Greg Baldwin, HTM’s Managing Director.

Guest judges were involved in the voting process, with Caroline Hinchcliffe, Supply Chain Director for Kier, Michael Doolin, Managing Director for Clover HR and Gary Prout, Account Manager for Cleartrack Performance joining the judging panel. Greg Baldwin and HTM Chair, Keith Baldwin completed the panel, with names removed from nominations to ensure that judging was fair.
