Highway Traffic Management welcomed Danny Thorn as their Head of Development this month, another strategic hire following the addition of a Cost Control & Analysis Manager, Brett Crutcher, at the start of the year.

Danny joins the business with the aim to work closely with the company’s management team and brings experience in leadership, coaching, mentoring, personal development and performance, process analysis, and market analysis.

“Danny brings in a fresh perspective to the business, drawing on knowledge and experience from within our industry within a commercial setting as well as in regards to the personal development of our team.” commented Marcus Casey, Business Director.

Danny has worked within the traffic management industry as Commercial Director for Amber-RTM, TSM and Clearway, Head of Commercial for Traffic Group Signals. Danny started in TM 19 years ago, progressing quickly through the ranks to Regional Manager for Forest Support Services developing a £7m region and worked for them for 10 years so understands how to develop a business and work with stakeholders; he brings experience from both supplier and a subcontractors perspective.

Recently Danny has been undertaking self-development training in counselling, well-being, leadership and management to complement his experience. This supplements his IOSH qualifications and previous root cause analysis training.

“I’m looking forward to supporting the business, focusing on helping colleagues with personal development and fine-tuning existing processes to ensure the business is streamlined in its approaches to problem-solving, plus working with clients to drive continued sustainable revenue growth.

“I recognise that my greatest success has come from developing others and helping them maximise their potential, so look forward to working with my HTM colleagues, building on the fantastic work already done, particularly around well-being and continual improvement.” commented Danny.
